Salt Lamps

Natural Salt Lamps For Natural Life

How Salt Lamps Work:

Bio-energetic crystal salt was naturally created over millions of years ago, when the ocean waters dried up in various parts of the world. The crystals are hand excavated and drilled inside to accommodate a light source. When lit by a small, energy efficient light bulb of 15 watt or less, crystal salt emits an electrical charge, enriching our environment with health-promoting negative ions. Negative ions help purify the air of allergens, dust, smoke, bacteria and more. These natural qualities make them a natural air purifier and a beautiful light source that simultaneously help people with various health conditions including asthma, allergies and other respiratory ailments. They can be safely used in every room, and should be left on as much as possible.

The Science:

Crystal salt is one of the few minerals whose atomic structure is bound electrically, not molecularly. This characteristic of the mineral structure enables the crystal to change back and forth from crystalline to liquid state.
The gentle heat of the lamp in the salt crystal creates a higher surface temperature than the surrounding air. This attracts the water molecules in the cooler surrounding air. The natural humidity in the air condenses on the crystal's surface. This enables the electrically bound sodium chloride mineral to split into independent positive sodium and negative chloride ions.
This natural ionization creates an electric charge. After the water molecules evaporate again, the sodium and chloride ions turn back into their crystalline mineral form. When the sun heats up our largest natural salt source -the oceans, it generates the natural energy field of which our entire global environment consists. Salt crystals create exactly the same energy field. Scientifically speaking, this natural ionization process takes place millions of times, invisible to the eye, and without any influence on the quality of the crystals, similar to the concept whereby tree leafs absorb dangerous dioxides and transform them into essential oxygen without damaging the plant.
The atomic structure of crystal salt contains more negative chloride ions than positive sodium ions, which results in the emission of negative ions during the natural ionization process. Negative ions become dust collectors, attaching themselves to positively charged dust particles and cigarette smoke, purifying the circulating indoors air from dust, bacteria and pollutants.

Choosing a Salt Lamp:

Whichever salt lamp you choose, you will surely love it! We import lamps from various countries, and depending on the source, each lamp has a unique salt crystal composition, which affects its energy and aesthetics. We suggest having one from each country, so you can experience the difference for yourself and have pieces of ancient elements from around the world.
Each lamp has indication of its size and approximate ion radius. For small spaces, smaller sized lamps will work fine. For larger spaces, it is better to have a large or several smaller and medium ones. With salt lamps, you can never have too many. We recommend starting with a few lamps, and place them in rooms that you occupy the most, such as bedrooms and work offices.
Our bodies heal the best at night, so making sure your bedroom is tranquil and healthy will help your body get better rest and help your immune system. At work, we are surrounded by Electro-Magnetic Radiation (EMR) that has been known to cause various health conditions including fatigue, low concentration, and other health issues. We recommend at least one salt lamp near every computer.
Again, you can never have too many salt lamps, so start with at least one in every room and add more as you personally experience the benefits of nature’s most abundant and healthful resource - the salt crystal.

How to care for your Salt Lamp:

Natural Salt lamps are for indoor use. Crystal Salt is hygroscopic; it draws moisture from the air. In case of increased humidity, the lamp should be turned on. The heated salt lamp will dry itself off. If the lamp is left off for periods of time, and becomes very damp - unplug it and take the electrical unit out. If the unit is wet, place it in a dry place. Wipe the salt crystal with cotton towel until moisture is removed. Following the drying process of the electrical unit and salt crystal, reassemble the lamp and turn it on for a couple of hours. Keep the lamp on a waterproof surface and watch for moisture build up. If you store the salt lamp for long periods unlit, seal it in a plastic bag in a cool dry place. As lamp is heavy, keep out of reach of small children.

Replacing the light bulb:

Each of our salt lamps comes with a custom fitted high quality, UL tested light unit, on/off switch and cord. To replace the bulb, you do not need any tools. Just slowly pull on the light unit near the base of the lamp while squeezing the clasps together. Use a standard 15 watt or less night light size base bulb usually found in any hardware store, lighting store, or grocery store. If you cannot find any, please contact us and we will assist you in obtaining one.
